Our Nursery

FARM + FIELDS + FUR + FEATHERS = FUN

Our mission statement - Happy children, happy parents

Choosing the right day nursery to ensure your child's safety, happiness and personal growth is a huge decision. Rest assured - child care is not just our job; it is our passion.

Our wonderful, affectionate staff are recruited because they love working with children of all ages - our babies, toddlers and preschoolers as well as the primary pupils who come to our amazing holiday club. They strive to create a nurturing family atmosphere full of warmth and laughter.

With so much glorious outdoor space right at our fingertips, our children (and staff!) love to skip through our meadows, explore alongside the babbling brook, and splash through muddy puddles... soaking up all the sights and sounds of nature and learning about the world around us.

The children adore bottle-feeding our lambs and collecting eggs from our hens to take home and eat - yum!

Our indoor space, a converted barn, is also beautiful and spacious, located in the picturesque village of Kelbrook, near Barnoldswick, Lancashire.

The rooms are filled with mesmerising toys, pet animals and activity zones, with doors opening onto irrisistable outdoor playgrounds with attractive play equipment, gardens and vegetable patches.

Our fabulous rooms

Our nursery barn is separated into 3 playrooms. We have the Baby Room - Little Lambs (0-2 years), Toddler Room - Playful Piglets (2-3 years) and the Pre-School Room - Chirpy Chicks (3-5 years).

Our team of cuddle-mad staff encourage our babies to explore all four areas of this room, where they are enchanted by stimulating toys, activities and sensory decorations. We have a separate sleep area where the children can nap in cots or on sleep mats, a small kitchen and a cloakroom for nappy changing.

This is where it gets really interesting! Our Playful Piglets are fascinated by everything and have boundless energy. Their sense of self is growing and the mission of our talented toddler team is to feed imaginations and gently encourage independence. In the Playful Piglets Room we love to have fun whilst learning lots of new things about the world around us.

Chirpy Chicks

Wow! They grow up so fast! Here at Brook Farm we love helping our Chirpy Chicks develop their confidence, social skills and knowledge as they progress on their journey towards the wider world.

The children will be starting their next adventure at primary school all too soon and our goal is to fully prepare them for this big step. To help ease the transition, our lovely team offer a variety of activities that are fun, yet challenging and stimulating. Your child’s key-worker will observe your child regularly, and adapt activities to suit their individual development needs and preferences. We work on the skills that teachers like children to have in school, including basic literacy and numeracy, but also things like putting on their own coat and going to the toilet independently.

The Great Outdoors

Our children go on regular romps around the farm, visiting the friendly sheep and pigs, bottle feeding the lambs and calves, and collecting eggs from the hens. As well as embarking on adventures around the fields we also love to explore the wider village, with its bird -filled trees and babbling beck.

Our mantra is...

“There's no such thing as bad weather, just the wrong clothes!”

Wellies and waterproofs are essential kit here! Because of our unique setting and because we are always out and about exploring on the farm, come rain or shine, we do ask you to provide a pair of wellington boots, a full waterproof suit and spare appropriate clothing (extra layers in winter, sunhat in summer), all clearly labelled with your child’s name. We ask that you do not send your child to nursery in open-toed shoes during the summer months, to protect their feet.
